This subject introduces the specific and distinct area of club management in Australia. Although this is a clearly identifiable division of the hospitality industry, the subject builds upon students existing knowledge of several other areas of management and that which has been acquired through practical experience. However, this subject provides the applied knowledge and skills necessary for effective and efficient management of registered and licensed clubs in Australia. Each topic begins with a number of explicit aims students will need to consider whilst progressing through the material. Some of these outcomes are related to acquisition of new knowledge and understanding theoretical perspectives and others concern competencies and skills.
