This subject examines the role of analytical procedures in clinical exercise physiology. It will cover measurement concepts and procedures in clinical practice and research, safety and ethical issues, technology in clinical practice and research, fundamentals of instrumentation, evaluationg and using published data, data collection and analysis, and reporting of data. Subject content will be related to gait analysis, balance control, postural analysis, motion analysis, risk of falling, lifting and carrying and other measures of functional capacity.
Learning Outcomes
- understand the role, conduct an evaluation of analytical procedures in clinical exercise physiology practice and research;
- demonstrate the use of measurement tools used in clinical exercise physiology research and practice;
- understand the methods used in the collection and dissemination of the findings of analytical procedures in clinical exercise physiology practice and research.
