This subject addresses the pathophysiological basis of cardiac disease as well as the diagnosis, medical and interventional treatment of cardiac disease. It revises the role of exercise in the prevention of cardiac diseases and examines the effects of exercise training on physiological and pathophysiological mechanisms, the safety of exercise in high-risk indivuals, contraindicatioins to exercise, risk assessment, the stratification, diagnostic, prognostic and prescriptive interpretation of exercise test results, and the design and supervision of exercise programs for individuals with cardiac disease.
