This subject examines the principles and practices of exercise rehabilitation and the role that the sport and exercise scientist plays in the rehabilitation process. Topics include principles of exercise rehabilitation, role of physical capacities, proprioception and neuromuscular control, exercise rehabilitation tools, cardiovascular rehabilitation, musculo-skeletal rehabilitation, psychology of injury, and exercise rehabilitation for specific pathologies.
Learning Outcomes
- To develop understanding of the role of the sport and exercise scientist in post acute phase rehabilitation;
- To examine the principles and practices of exercise testing and prescription for individuals with pathology and/or injury;
- To examine treatment modes in exercise rehabilitation.
