Enrolment in this subject is restricted to all studcents enrolled in the Bachelor of Speech Pathology.
This subject introduces students to the practical application of speech and language assessment and intervention processes for children. Students will work in pairs under the supervision of speech pathology staff in weekly practical sessions at a JCU speech pathology clinic. Students will learn to write regular case notes, assessment reports, progress reports and referral letters.
Learning Outcomes
- Students will develop skills in: Planning and implementing clinical sessions; Assessment of simple speech and language impairments in children; Analysis and interpretation of assessment information and formulation of a diagnosis; Development of intervention goals and provision of intervention programs.
