This subject takes the form of a practical placement in an appropriate community setting. Students will work under the supervision of appropriate field supervisors. The placement gives students the opportunity to work in different settings and to increase their skills in working with clients and in their interactions with other professionals and members of the community. Attendance and presentations at the professional issues mini-conferences is required.
Learning Outcomes
- to act in a professional manner, meet the requirements of a work contract and associated responsibilities;
- to develop clinical skills under supervision of an experienced practitioner;
- to develop further independence and responsibility as a practising clinical and health psychologist;
- to gain understanding of the demands made by and the functioning of different agencies and the range of duties required of a practising psychologist, including non-clinical responsibilities.
