This subject takes the form of a practical placement in an appropriate community setting. Students will work under the supervision of appropriate field supervisors. The placement gives students the opportunity to work in different settings and to become familiar with the professional network within which psychologists operate. Attendance and presentations at the professional issues Mini-conferences is required.
Learning Outcomes
- to act in a professional manner, meet the requirements of a work contract and associated responsibilities;
- to develop clinical skills under supervision of an experienced practitioner;
- to develop further independence and responsibility as a practising clinical and health psychologist;
- to gain understanding of the demands made by and the functioning of different agencies and the range of duties required of a practising psychologist, including non-clinical responsibilities.
