Available to MPsych or DPsych students.
This subject takes the form of a practical placement in the University Psychology Clinic or in a suitable field setting for more experienced students. Students will work in the clinic under the close supervision of appropriate staff or field supervisor. Discussions on specific issues relevant to the professional psychologist (e.g. ethics, legal issues, quality assurance etc) and case presentations will take place in the scheduled Mini-conferences throughout the semester. Attendance at Mini-conferences is required for students enrolled in a placement subject.
Learning Outcomes
- to act in a professional manner, meet the requirements of a work contract and associated responsibilities;
- to develop a beginning level of independence and responsibility as a practising clinical and health psychologist;
- to develop clinical skills under the guidance of a supervisor.
