Available to Bachelor of Photography students.
Through research into the work of successful present day photographers, students will become aware of emerging photographic industry technology changes and modern business practices and procedures. Based on this research students in conjunction with the subject co-ordinator will arrange and undertake a work placement for a minimum of three weeks in one or more their preferred areas of the photographic industry.
Learning Outcomes
- Develop an in-depth understanding of the operation of one or more facets of the photographic industry;
- Gain an understanding of the variety of employment opportunities in the photographic industry;
- Through research, gain an understanding of the emergent technologies being employed by contemporary photographers;
- Improve interpersonal skills through workplace observation of interaction between photographers and their clientele;
- Improve their technical photographic knowledge through a period of work with industry practitioners.

Special Assessment Requirements: | Students must satisfactorily complete a minimum of three weeks of photographic industry placement. This placement is arranged by the student in conjunction with, and approved by, the subject co-ordinator and is normally undertaken in the mid-year break prior to commencing the subject. |
