Available to Bachelor of Photography students.
By means of a written contract negotiated with the subject coordinator, students enrolling in this subject will produce a portfolio of work to near professional standard in an area of photography of their choice. A program of work may be completed in any of the following broad categories: portraiture; photojournalism; commercial photography; fine art photography.The category selected for this portfolio of work will normally be different to that chosen in PT3010. If the portfolio is undertaken in the same area of photography as in PT3010, there must be a substantial development of concept and practice beyond that achieved in PT3010.
Learning Outcomes
- acquire additional items to add to a portfolio of work that will assist in gaining employment in the photographic industry;
- apply previously acquired knowledge of photographic technique to achieve professional results;
- explore experimental alternatives wherever possible in the quest for originality and creative excellence;
- gain a greater understanding of one area of professional photography;
- identify different creative processes, strategies and outcomes leading to the production of a portfolio of work representing the students personal artistic direction.

Special Assessment Requirements: | In order to establish the authenticity of work submitted for assessment, attendance at practical classes is compulsory. Rolls are kept and work submitted by students with an attendance of less than 80% will not be eligible for assessment unless prior approval has been obtained in writing from the lecturer. |
