Available to Bachelor of Photography students.
Students completing this subject will explore photographic theory and practice in the following broad applied areas of photography: Fashion: History and development of fashion photography. Contemporary themes and issues in fashion photography. Working with and direction of models, location and studio lighting, choice of locations and props, hair and make-up, choice and use of clothing and accessories, techniques for posing.
Learning Outcomes
- Extend competency to near professional standard in the use of camera and lighting equipment;
- Extend understanding of allied disciplines through the digital design of advertising/magazine layouts incorporating original images produced;
- Application of previously acquired knowledge of photographic, darkroom and digital techniques to new tasks and explore experimental alternatives in the quest for originality and creative excellence;
- Develop an understanding of the history, principles and practices of fashion, and advertising photography.

Special Assessment Requirements: | In order to establish the authenticity of work submitted for assessment, attendance at practical classes is compulsory. Rolls are kept and work submitted by students with an attendance of less than 80% will not be eligible for assessment unless prior approval has been obtained in writing from the lecturer. |
