Available to Bachelor of Photography students. Students undertaking this subject must either have passed or have a concurrent enrolment in PT1510.
This subject builds on the theoretical and practical concepts introduced in PT1610 and PT1710 integrating them to further develop the fundamental principles on which photography is based. Topics to be covered include: measurement and calculation of exposure through incident and reflected readings; photographic composition and design; theory and use of camera filters; print presentation techniques including retouching and mounting; use of a copystand.
Learning Outcomes

- acquire an understanding of the principles of 35mm black and white photography;
- continue to develop and demonstrate safe work practices;
- develop an awareness of the principles of photographic composition;
- produce a folio of work representing the students personal artistic direction.

Special Assessment Requirements: | In order to establish the authenticity of work submitted for assessment, attendance at practical classes is compulsory. Rolls are kept and work submitted by students with an attendance of less than 80% will not be eligible for assessment unless prior approval has been obtained in writing from the lecturer. |
