This subject builds on the students extensive knowledge of primary health care activities and serves to integrate the knowledge to enable the student to develop and manage a primary health care program in their local context.

Learning Outcomes

• describe the primary health care approach to providing health services;
• develop a range of health promotion activities that are suited to the setting in which they will be done;
• discuss the principles and values of primary health care;
• manage a health promotion program;
• outline several models of health promotion.
