Strategic Management is the capstone subject of the business program integrating the core disciplines across the curriculum. Strategic thinking and management are essential for the effectiveness of all organisations. It involves an overall organisational perspective in the global context embracing concepts and theoretical components, analytical frameworks and tools, and integrative processes including leadership, that underpins effective strategic management in the new millennium. The subject also illustrates strategic planning as a real world activity. It may involve formative and summative case studies, simulations, as well as fieldwork. The objective is to expose students to strategic management issues and the opportunity to study them in practice.
