Project management in business is, on the one hand, a tool for implementation of business decision making. On the other hand it is an overall systems framework within which to evaluate the consequences of business decision making. In this context it is important in helping Australian businesses to progress towards an international competitive advantage in terms of the triple bottom line (financial, environmental and social).
Learning Outcomes
- ability to analyse and advise on the more reasonable (and less reasonable) applications of project management in business;
- to gain experience in the use of software for project management;
- to understand the key concepts in project management;
- to understand the limitations and advantages of implementing project management in business;
- to understand the links between project management and project evaluation.
