This subject will focus on the upsurge in the use of mediation as a form of conflict management over the last 20 years, and will investigate the main forms of contemporary mediation theory, for example, the transformative and narrative schools of thought. The social and commercial reasons behind the growth of mediation will be examined. In addition, the roles of those party to a mediation and the 7 Stages of Interest-Based Mediation will be critically evaluated.
