Available to Bachelor of Indigenous Studies students who have successfully completed this subject at level 2 and other undergraduate students who are eligible to take a level 3 subject.
This subject provides students with the ability to use digital technology to record information for documentary and research purposes. Students will be introduced to issues and notions through online learning including the discussion board and email, digital medium and reading materials. Therefore it is essential that students have access to the World Wide Web to complete this subject, students who do not have access to email should notify the subject coordinator. Students will gain knowledge and skills in script writing, basic stills photography, digital recording and editing and analysis of digitally recorded research data. This subject will be of benefit to those students who are currently engaged in or plan to enter into research or employment where the use of such technology is required.
Learning Outcomes
- plan a project including preparation of a script for a small project;
- engage in basic stills photography and digital copying of existing photographs;
- complete a small documentary project using digital recording and editing;
- analyse digitally recorded research data.
