By means of a written contract negotiated with the subject coordinator, students enrolling in this subject will produce a portfolio of work to near professional standard in an area of design of their choice. This negotiated program of work may focus on a number of different areas of interest including Web Development, Print Design, Multimedia Design, Digital Illustration, Traditional Illustration, publishing etc.
Learning Outcomes
- explore and identify different creative processes, strategies and outcomes leading to the production of a portfolio of work representing the students personal style and professional direction;
- gain a greater understanding of one area of professional design/illustration/multimedia and develop a portfolio of work that will assist in gaining employment in that sector of the visual communications industry.

Special Assessment Requirements: | In order to establish the authenticity of work submitted for assessment, attendance at practical classes is compulsory. Rolls are kept and work submitted by students with an attendance of less than 80% will not be eligible for assessment unless prior approval has been obtained in writing from the lecturer. |
