An essential subject for students wishing to become effective professionals. Focuses on teamwork and group interaction in the context of the environmental professional. Topics include group development, processes and dynamics; developing the basis of interaction skills including conflict resolution and decision making. Introduction to the use of tools and resources of group work.
Learning Outcomes
- Understand what are the essential attributes of effective teams;
- Know how to participate in or chair effective, outcome-driven meetings;
- Know the most effective strategies that you can use to get on with - at times difficult - team members;
- Know your own strengths and weaknesses in contributing to your team's work;
- Have some basic knowledge of group dynamics;
- Have some knowledge and experience of the processes and procedures required to undertake a successful team project.
