The computational engineering projects are individual research theses. Each thesis includes a literature review, in-depth analysis of state of the art technologies, and a period of individual and novel research. The level of research expected is significantly higher than that for students enrolled in the alternate EG5561 and EG5562 subject chain.
Learning Outcomes
- To comprehensively investigate a focused area of computational engineering research and perform novel research in that field using computational applications.
Graduate Qualities
- The ability to think critically, to analyse and evaluate claims, evidence and arguments;
- The ability to adapt knowledge to new situations;
- The ability to define and to solve problems in at least one discipline area;
- The ability to communicate effectively with a range of audiences;
- The ability to speak and write logically, clearly and creatively;
- The ability to calculate, produce, interpret and communicate numerical information;
- The ability to select and use appropriate IT tools;
- The ability to learn independently and in a self-directed manner.
