Utilising the Integrated Developmental Model (IDM) (Stolenberg, McNeill & Delworth, 1998) of counsellor development, this subject is designed to support students as they complete their 200 hours of counselling and associated practice. This subject emphasises the use of reflective practice and provides frameworks for case conceptualisation.
Learning Outcomes
- ability to critically reflect on ones own and others counselling practice to facilitate individual and team skill development;
- ability to present cases in verbal and written forms that demonstrate advanced reasoning;
- written demonstration of development as a counsellor to a Level 1 (IDM) standard, with evidence of (or ability to) transition into Level 2.
