This subject uses an inquiry-based approach immersing students in educational settings through the study period. Working through practical problems with school based educators and lecturers. students develop and explore styles and theories of teaching and learning. Students will develop skills in the observation, planning and interpretation of practice and in responding appropriately to the diversity of student needs. The inquiry based learning cycles will encourage students to form learning teams to assist the development of their professional understanding of the significance of classroom interactions as learning opportunities. Students' professional practice will include the development of teaching and learning activities, the management of small and large groups, the management of behaviour, the meeting of individual and special needs and the recognition of diversity within learning needs and outcomes. Students are required to undertake 185 hours of professional experience in educational settings.
Learning Outcomes
- demonstrate competence to plan, implement, assess and critically evaluate a range of learning episodes for all learners;
- recognise and respond to the diversity of the student population in all aspects of their professional practice;
- explore a range of teaching and management incidents and strategies from multiple perspectives;
