This subject has been designed to equip pre-service teachers with the necessary knowledge and competencies to effectively and equitably teach mathematics, science and the arts (namely dance, drama, media, music and visual arts) to primary aged children. Students will be involved in practical activities that will enable them to develop skills and methods required to teach and integrate concepts with other Key Learning Areas. Research related to learning and teaching in these Key Learning Areas will be emphasised with opportunities for students to engage in and reflect upon these experiences provided.

    Special Assessment Requirements:Assessment will vary according to strand. A proportion of the assessment in each strand will consist of in-class tasks and/or assignments consisting of one or a combination of: e-portfolio containing responses to readings, reflection on learning, reflection on workshop tasks; lesson and/or Unit plans; in-class assessment of workshop tasks; in-class presentations; glossary of significant KLA terms; examples of student's work. Science and music strands will include an end of semester exam.
