This subject introduces students to contemporary approaches in environmental education with emphasis on the Australian tropics. Students will review curriculum, pedagogy and implementation issues and be encouraged to link theoretical understandings with innovative ideas for environmental education practice in schools and community settings. Lectures and tutorials are conducted online through LearnJCU. Students are asked to complete a set of reflective, hands-on, learning investigations including field trips to local sites. A negotiated research and/or curriculum project allows students to follow up personal interests in the area of tropical environmental education.
