This subject focuses on current and future developments in diverse educational contexts and their significance for beginning teachers. It examines a range of expectations, situations and experiences which may be encountered by neophyte teachers.
Learning Outcomes
- critically assess the implications for the role of the teacher of current and emerging educational issues, trends and policies;
- develop and reflect on an incipient teacher identity;
- understand and be able to work in ethical ways which respond to the changing role of schools in society;
- work effectively with the profession and the community.
