This subject focuses on the range of care and education services available in Australia for young children. It examines the philosophical, historical, political, social and economic factors that have impacted on the evolution, current situation and future directions of children's services in Australia. It also addresses topics of professional significance for the early childhood educator.
Learning Outcomes
- critically examine professional issues relating to the planning and implementation of early childhood education;
- identify the broad range of early childhood care and education services in Australia;
- understand the philosophical, historical, political, social and economic background to current early childhood programs and proposals for future programs in Australia.
