Available ONLY to students enrolled in the Bachelor of Education (Middle School and Secondary), Graduate Bachelor of Education and Master of Teaching.
This subject examines the theoretical and applied aspects of teaching computer studies subjects at the upper primary and junior secondary school levels. It prepares students to teach the Information and Communication Technology in Education subject area syllabus in conjunction with the key learning area Technology Years 1 to 10 syllabus.
Learning Outcomes
- demonstrate skills in the evaluation and implementation of technological innovations;
- develop and evaluate teaching units, resources and assessment instruments;
- construct and reflect on students own theoretical framework for the teaching of computer studies subjects within the context of the theories and practices which are seen to be effective in encouraging and facilitating learning;
- reflect on student's own framework and apply it to the relevant mandated syllabuses.
Prerequisites: | ED2499 or undergraduate degree and minimum of 12 units of Information Technology subjects. |
