This subject provides an introduction to the educational and societal significance of current and future developments in information communication technologies as well as the evaluation, application, and instructional design of information communication technologies in education; media text analysis and the social and psychological effects of information communication technologies and their relation to education.
Learning Outcomes
- develop hands-on skills in the use of computer technology and the Internet;
- discuss aspects of learning with information communication technologies (ICTs);
- discuss important social, gender, disability and cultural issues relating to the introduction of information communication technologies;
- discuss learning theories underpinning educational software and educational web sites;
- discuss the important effects of information communication technologies on education and society.
