Students will be required to attend lectures and practical classes in BT3320.This subject provides an introduction to the theory and practice of plant propagation for use in urban and rural environments. Special emphasis will be placed on erosion control, environmental restoration and land rehabilitation/revegetation.
Learning Outcomes
- to gain an understanding of the techniques associated with the establishment and maintenance of ground covers and associated vegetation in tropical ecosystems;
- to gain an understanding of the theory and practice of plant propagation;
- to gain some basic knowledge about environmental factors affecting the growth of plants in both urban and rural settings.
Prerequisites: | BT2260 or BT2400 and 3 additional units of level 2 BT, BZ or ZL subjects or approval of HOS. |
