A course of lectures and practicals on applied statistical methods in the biological sciences. Topics include an introduction to scientific inference, exploratory data analysis on PCs, analysis of variance, regression, repeated measures analyses, nonparametric techniques and analysis of messy biological data.
Learning Outcomes
- be able to analyse complex data using statistical software;
- have a working knowledge of these methods;
- understand the role and importance of statistical methods in the biological sciences.
