Available to all students except BVA students.
Students will develop an appreciation of aesthetic qualities, conceptual approaches, skills and practices employed in the visual arts area of sculpture. Elements and principles of design will be explored as conduits for visual expression. Practical training in workshops using materials such as wire, plaster, clay, or found objects, along with demonstrations and class discussions will provide students with skills for the realisation of their ideas. A charge will be required upon enrolment for use of tools and materials.

Learning Outcomes

- develop the technical skills and competence necessary to undertake basic sculpture projects;
- develop an awareness of traditional and contemporary issues underpinning visual arts practice;
