Available to Bachelor of Visual Arts students.

Students will continue to explore sculpture as an area of specialisation within the visual arts. Emphasis will be on the consolidation of technical skills and processes and the development and expression of a personal vision. Students will gain experience in using techniques such as wood construction and/or carving. Students will gain further experience in research and experimentation, the development of ideas and their synthesis and translation into creative outcomes.

Learning Outcomes

• The gain an appreciation of the inherent qualities of processes and techniques in the area of sculpture;
• To identify, employ and demonstrate proficiency in key competencies necessary to visual arts practice;
• To develop problem solving skills to assist in creative decision-making and critical inquiry in visual arts;
• To demonstrate an understanding of safe work practices.

Assessment:	(80%); (20%).
Special Assessment Requirements:	In order to establish the authenticity of work submitted for assessment, attendance at practical classes is compulsory. Rolls are kept and work submitted by students with an attendance of less than 80% will not be eligible for assessment unless prior approval has been obtained in writing from the lecturer.
