Available to all students.
This introductory subject provides the opportunity for all students interested in ceramics to learn a range of practical skills, including various hand building techniques, decoration techniques, mixing and applying glazes and a selection of firing processes. Related theory will be introduced as required. A school charge will be levied upon enrolment for use of tools and materials.

Learning Outcomes
- develop the technical skills and competence necessary to undertake basic ceramics projects;

Special Assessment Requirements: | In order to establish the authenticity of work submitted for assessment, attendance at practical classes is compulsory. Rolls are kept and work submitted by students with an attendance of less than 80% will not be eligible for assessment unless prior approval has been obtained in writing from the lecturer. |
