This subject will encompass an introductory knowledge of the genesis, theory and practice of modern through to contemporary art, through a series of image presentations and discussions.

Learning Outcomes

• develop sound strategies for scholarship appropriate for the visual arts;
• develop a working knowledge of some of the basic concepts underpinning scholarship and research in the visual arts;
• gain an introductory knowledge of the issues and movements, theory and practice of modern through to contemporary art;
• gain an appreciation of the traditions of visual arts practice.
