This subject provides a number of very useful technical skills essential for the development, management and presentation of public health projects to a moderate level of proficiency. Topics include writing of grant applications, referencing, project planning, timelines and budgeting, Internet functions, website design and creation, database design, geographical information and positioning systems (GIS/GPS), advanced presentation skills and publishing.
Learning Outcomes
- Internet functions and how to build a project web site;
- Students will develop a moderate level of proficiency in: various software packages to assist in project development and management;
- how to give effective presentations;
- how to write effective reports, grants and publications;
- use of geographical systems (GIS and GPS).
