Students will study the development of the Western Theatre from the 5th century BC to the end of the 20th century. Areas of inquiry will include the nature of theatre; the role of the playwright and the development of drama; the changes and development of the theatre space and design; the development of the actors technique and the evolution of the actor-spectator relationship.
