The subject is comprised of three modules. Module 1 looks at the history of developmental psychology and psychopathology. A number of issues faced by developmental psychologists are addressed. Module 2 introduces the developmental pathways involved in infancy and toddlerhood, the preschool years, school age years and adolescence. Module 3 offers the opportunity to study, in some depth, a number of areas of abnormal childhood and adolescent development. Students taking SS1106 for credit toward a higher qualification must complete it in one semester by the end of the final week of classes.
