Strategic Management is the capstone subject in the business program integrating the core disciplines across the curriculum. Strategic management is not just an ideal; strategic thinking and management are essential for the effectiveness of all organisations. It is an overall organisational perspective in the global Australian context involving concepts and theoretical components, analytical frameworks and tools and integrative processes including leadership that underpins effective strategic management in the new millennium. The subject also illustrates strategic planning as a real world activity. It can involve formative and summative case studies, simulations, as well as field work based on organisations chosen by the students themselves.
