This subject compares the theoretical and applied perspectives of significant human resource management and employment relations matters between countries. It focuses on human resource management practices and issues within national and global organisations, the role of national and regional socio-cultural forces and the importance of labour organisations, such as trade unions. The subject uses a thematic approach to highlight the differences and similarities between a number of countries, especially Australia, Europe and Asia. International Human Resource Management allows the application of previously acquired HRM knowledge to a number of new and dynamic contexts by examining employment relationships in different countries.
