This subject introduces students to the managing services in the international context as a source of competitive advantage. The subject provides an initial introduction to the concept of service as well as ideas about service operations management and its strategic role in business strategy. The management of processes and systems of services management are explored in the context of the business enterprise. Physical and geographic factors as well as the diverse aspects of a daily services operation are discussed in the context of important management functions, which include ensuring quality, maintaining productivity, and meeting demand.
