Examines public relations in action by bringing together the theoretical, disciplinary and process skills and knowledge developed through preceding subjects. Topics include media relations, internal and community relations, public relations in business and government, crisis and issue management and event management and sponsorship. Students may also undertake minor practical assignments within the community if appropriate.
Learning Outcomes
- demonstrate a general understanding of crisis and issue management;
- demonstrate practical competency in media relations;
- develop a theoretical management or sponsorship plan for a simple event;
- exhibit familiarity with the principles of internal and community relations;
- identify the main principles of public relations in business and government.
