Available to Bachelor of Indigenous Studies students and Bachelor of Journalism and Communications students.
Students are introduced to basic forms of radio production. The changing radio landscape;target audience; radio formats and roles; content and show preparation. Presentation skills, writing for radio and conducting effective interviews in the field and studio are taught.
Learning Outcomes
- Conduct a variety of interviews including,vox pops, interpretive and informational;
- Develop on air presentation skills, operate the radio panel, as well as perform editing tasks on all digital equipment;
- Describe broadcast law and a knowledge of on air protocols;
- Identify the target audience and produce programs that reflect their needs;
- Produce numerous scripts including community announcements,interview scripts, radio advertisements and promos.
