This subject introduces students to the historical, political, social and cultural frameworks of Indigenous Australians. It will critically analyse government policies towards Indigenous Australians and examine the unique nature of Indigenous (collective) rights and social justice and the role of advocacy in promoting Indigenous well being.
Learning Outcomes
- analyse the unique nature of Indigenous (collective) Rights;
- describe the historical, political, social and cultural frameworks of Indigenous Affairs (in the Australian context);
- discuss Human Rights and Social Justice and the role of advocacy in promoting Indigenous well- being;
- critically analyse government policies towards Indigenous Australians.
