Available to students enrolled in the BCommunication Design degree.
This subject is designed to extend students understanding of graphic design and illustration. Students will undertake a range of advanced projects designed to extend their conceptual and practical skills to a level of proficiency and autonomy appropriate for commercial application in a range of appropriate media. Illustration theory will also be explored. Students will develop a broad understanding of the technical function, philosophy and role of the various illustrative genres in contemporary society. Emphasis will be given to the development of a professional approach to the creative visual process, improving and refining technical approaches to illustration and building upon the students pre-established foundation level understanding of core illustration activities.

Special Assessment Requirements: | In order to establish the authenticity of work submitted for assessment, attendance at practical classes is compulsory. Rolls are kept and work submitted by students with an attendance of less than 80% will not be eligible for assessment unless prior approval has been obtained in writing from the lecturer. |
