This is the fifth of six units in the Bachelor of Communication Designs multimedia stream. Through a series of lectures, tutorials and practical sessions, this subject further develops audiovisual editing (i.e. Final Cut Pro) and post-production skills pertinent to creating sophisticated content for multimedia projects. An introduction to colour correction, keying, matteing also introduces the foundation skills for a career in special effects production. The first half of the course explores a series of production techniques common in audio visual and special effects production while the second half is dedicated to their use in major assessment projects. Content produced will provide experience in manipulation and compression of media content into industry standard delivery environments using a variety codecs. Particular emphasis will be placed on methodology and workflow practices involved in delivering professional results and the understanding required to make informed choices in the handling and delivery of media content. Students will develop planning, organisation and media control skills. GA3231 builds on the storytelling skills acquired in GA2310 through the addition of motion graphic and digital compositing techniques skills
