Credit points: | 03 |
Year: | 2005 |
Student Contribution Band: | Band 1 |
Administered by: |
This subject serves as an introduction to the fast moving world of three dimensional design and animation. It will provide design students with an understanding of fundamental concepts and planning strategies, along with technical skills required to complete basic three dimensional designs. A range of functional, technical and aesthetic viewpoints which must be considered when working within three dimensional environments will be discussed. Specifically students will examine spatial concepts relevant to completion of work in a 3D environment, and form generation using primitives, splines and NURBS. The application of materials and textures to surfaces, and the use of different types of lights to create varied effects. The use of virtual cameras to aid in the modelling of objects, timelines to create animations, and the rendering and saving of files for different aplications.
There are additional charges for this subject; please contact the School for details.
