Available to all honours students and new postgraduate students in TESAG programs.
Aimed at students about to attempt their first research program. The subject introduces fundamental ideas required to understand how scientific progress is made and to recognise good science.
Learning Outcomes
- an appreciation of the inter-relationship that exists between research and management, and an appreciation of the ethical issues in research and management;
- develop an understanding of the variety of approaches to the acquisition of knowledge through research;
- an understanding the need for meaningful research questions that are underpinned by a strong theoretical framweork of a given disciplinary area;
- ability to communicate reserach to a range of audiences;
- an appreciation of multiple research approaches to a chosen topic of study.
