This is an essential subject for students wishing to become effective professionals. It focuses on teamwork and group interaction in the context of the environmental professional. Topics include: group development; processes and dynamics; developing the basis of interaction skills including conflict resolution and decision making. It provides an introduction to the use of tools and resources of group work.

Learning Outcomes

• a basic knowledge of group dynamics;
• basic knowledge of questionnaire design;
• improved skills in verbal and written communication;
• knowledge and experience of the processes and procedures required to undertake a successful research project in Environmental Science;
• some appreciation of interpersonal differences and their impact on team functioning;
• teamwork skills.
