A study of representative Australian works of the Modern period.
Learning Outcomes
- to acquire a detailed knowledge of each of the texts set for study;
- to acquire some knowledge of the history of their critical reception and the factors determining this;
- to broaden and intensify the literary-critical skills and understanding attained by students at earlier levels;
- to develop an understanding of the cultural, social and literary milieu in which the texts originated;
- to develop research skills, to use the library resources and meet the editorial conventions of the discipline.
