Topics include: Numerical modelling techniques, discretization of partial differential equations, finite difference, finite element and finite volume methods. Solution of linear systems: Gaussian elimination, relaxation methods, conjugate gradient and multigrid methods. Grid generation: the mapping concept, interpolants and algebraic grids.
